Color Me Miki--July kit...Cherry Pie

Hello everyone!! I can't believe there is only 1 week left in July! I say this everytime, but man oh man! TIME FLIES!! The kids start school in 1 month and we still have lots to do in the house. We haven't even gone anywhere this summer...hmm...need to find a time share! LOL.

While we are still in July, I wanted to share with you the Color Me Miki July kit--Oh My, Cherry Pie! It's a wonderful mix of Webster's Pages and Jenni Bowlin. And gotta love the 2 alpha sets and STICKLES!! This kit is loaded with fun stuff and perfect for summer!


When I saw the colors, I was inspired to use this photo I had of the kids from last year. Totally being crazy and silly! It's funny to see even Joey joining in on the fun at 1year old! LOL. Heintje has been telling me that there are no canvases with Joey, so I decided to finally make one! This is a 14"x14" canvas, so it's a little bigger than a 12x12 layout. I had to cut up pieces of the patterned paper and piece them together. I also hid the seams with some cut outs. FUN stuff!! So now I finally have 2 pictures of Joey on our walls..LOL. Hopefully I'll get more done soon!

Although I said this kit is perfect for summer, spring works, too! I am starting to have a fondness for yellow and when I saw this paper in the kit, I knew I had to use it as a background! When I took this photo back in March, I don't remember if I meant to just take half their bodies, or I messed up?? But when I saw it later, I LOVED it!! The shorts, the bubbles, the sunshine...this photo just screamed ..IT'S ALMOST SPRING!! (this was back in March). I love sunny days and I'm so thankful I live in CA where we got lots of it!

Finally here is a card sketch with an example.

Other than a birthday party tonight, we have ZERO plans for the weekend!! We do have a have a house full of viruses so we are cleaning up. Then just we finally get to relax and stay home! Jasmin is getting over an ear infection and bronchiolitis. Heintje is getting over the flu, but still has a lingering cough. Hopefully after this weekend of rest, we'll all be 100% again!

Layout Class, May 20, 2008

I'm teaching another class at Suzy's, Picture Me Perfect.

Here is the info:

Date: Tues, May 20, 2008
Time: 7-9ish PM
Cost: $30

You will create 5 layouts and receive all the material necessary.
This class will also use lots of fun "EM"bellishments! heeheee. Here are 3 out of the 5 layouts.

This layout uses new fun Prima papers. You use a WHOLE sheet of patterned paper as the background!! You also get to play with fun embellishements like Maya Road, Queen and Company, and more!

*sorry, the scan for this layout is horrible! The buttons did not want to cooperate :(

This layout will show you how to use die cuts as embellishments!! Bust out those sharp scissors ladies!

This layout features papers Prima Dude and Making Memories.

You will learn how to use patterned papers as embellishments and mix them up with other goodies to add texture and dimension.

Spring card class in March!

Yippee, I'm so excited to teach cards again. It was so fun putting these together, esp since they are spring cards, meaning....flowers!! I love flowers!

Here is the scoop. Class will be at Picture Me Perfect. The class is not up yet, maybe around Feb 1.

Class Date: March 11 @ 7PM

Cost of Class: $25---includes basket + 5 cards!! What a deal!

My favorite is the Transparent card...FUN stuff!!

Transparency Album Class

I had so much fun with this class, the Hambly transparencies are amazing and sturdy enough to be it's own page. The pages are loaded with fun embellies from Heidi Swapp and my own custom journaling tags. We will also play with the new Tim Holtz crackle paint!!
